Online Databases

The State Library of Queensland provides Queensland public libraries with access to a number of authoritative, subscription-only databases that are not available through Google or other free search engines.  Some of these are below.

State Library membership is required to access these databases. You will be asked for your library card number. Joining is easy and free.

(If you are not a Burdekin Library member we would love to see you in the Library. It takes 2 minutes to join and you need two forms of ID.)

SpineOut Online is a place for young people where you can express your ideas and thoughts and to share your creativity in words, art, film or music. A fun and interactive site.

ProQuest Central is the largest single periodical resource available, bringing together complete databases across all major subject areas, including Business, Health and Medical, Language and Literature, Social Sciences, Education, Science and Technology, as well as core titles in the Performing and Visual Arts, History, Religion, Philosophy, and includes thousands of full-text newspapers from around the world.

Health & Wellness Resource Center  Access to articles in over 200 leading medical journals of which about 150 are available full text.
